A weak space-time formulation for the linear stochastic heat equation

چکیده
We apply the well-known Banach-Nečas-Babuška inf-sup theory in a stochastic setting to introduce a weak space-time formulation of the linear stochastic heat equation with additive noise. We give sufficient conditions on the the data and on the covariance operator associated to the driving Wiener process, in order to have existence and uniqueness of the solution. We show the relation of the obtained solution to the so-called mild solution and to the variational solution of the same problem. The spatial regularity of the solution is also discussed. Finally, an extension to the case of linear multiplicative noise is presented.

A truly meshless method formulation for analysis of non-Fourier heat conduction in solids
The non-Fourier effect in heat conduction is important in strong thermal environments and thermal shock problems. Generally, commercial FE codes are not available for analysis of non-Fourier heat conduction. In this study, a meshless formulation is presented for the analysis of the non-Fourier heat conduction in the materials. The formulation is based on the symmetric local weak form of the sec...
متن کاملAdaptive Unstructured Grid Generation Scheme for Solution of the Heat Equation
An adaptive unstructured grid generation scheme is introduced to use finite volume (FV) and finite element (FE) formulation to solve the heat equation with singular boundary conditions. Regular grids could not acheive accurate solution to this problem. The grid generation scheme uses an optimal time complexity frontal method for the automatic generation and delaunay triangulation of the grid po...
متن کاملA Weak Stochastic Integral in Banach Space with Application to a Linear Stochastic Differential Equation*
Cylindrical Wiener processes in real separable Banach spaces are defined, and an approximation theorem involving scalar Wiener processes is given for such processes. A weak stochastic integral for Banach spaces involving a cylindrical Wiener process as integrator and an operator-valued stochastic process as integrand is defined. Basic properties of this integral are stated and proved. A class o...
متن کاملA numerical scheme for space-time fractional advection-dispersion equation
In this paper, we develop a numerical resolution of the space-time fractional advection-dispersion equation. We utilize spectral-collocation method combining with a product integration technique in order to discretize the terms involving spatial fractional order derivatives that leads to a simple evaluation of the related terms. By using Bernstein polynomial basis, the problem is transformed in...
متن کاملStochastic averaging for SDEs with Hopf Drift and polynomial diffusion coefficients
It is known that a stochastic differential equation (SDE) induces two probabilistic objects, namely a difusion process and a stochastic flow. While the diffusion process is determined by the innitesimal mean and variance given by the coefficients of the SDE, this is not the case for the stochastic flow induced by the SDE. In order to characterize the stochastic flow uniquely the innitesimal cov...
